Choosing a sewage pump
- Match the electrical supply first: most homes have single phase (230V); larger sites often have three phase (400V).
- Check the outlet size against your rising main, and that the pump will reach the head (height plus pipe losses) at the flow you need. Each datasheet has the duty curve.
- A built-in float switch suits a simple chamber. If you have a control panel with floats, choose a pump without a float.
- Vortex (U) impellers pass soft solids with less clogging. Channel impellers give more head and efficiency for the same power.
